Turn your regulars into members

Service businesses can bill monthly the way software companies do, with the system carrying the administration.

The case for memberships

A wash club and a monthly HVAC maintenance plan work the same way. A customer who paid per visit now pays per month, so revenue becomes predictable and the relationship stops resetting after every visit.

The catch is operational. A membership program is a billing engine and an account system at once. Run it on spreadsheets and a card reader and it starts consuming the front desk, so the software has to carry the administration.

Sunlane Express Wash

A club signup reaches the lane cameras at every site within a minute. When a card declines, the member keeps washing while a fix text goes out. Sunlane is a company we invented, so we could build its website and back office in full.

What we build

  • Signup at the counter or in the lot

A member joins from a phone in the parking lot or at the counter by picking a plan and entering a card. The flow follows your plans and your terms.

  • Billing that runs itself

Stripe handles the charge each cycle, and the system handles receipts, plan changes, proration and the retry-and-notify sequence when a card declines. A failed payment becomes an email to the member instead of a task for your staff.

  • A member portal

Members sign in to update a card, change plans, pause for a season or cancel. Each of those is a call your team no longer takes.

  • Recognition at the point of service

The membership has to work at the moment of service, whether that’s a license plate at the wash or a barcode at the gym door. We connect the account system to however your business recognizes people.

A membership program should add revenue without adding headcount

That’s the standard we scope against. If a design would create more counter work than it removes, we keep working on it.

Self-serve lets the program grow

Every billing question a member answers in the portal is a call or a counter conversation your team doesn’t handle. That’s what lets a program grow past the size one person can hold in their head.

It changes cancellation too. A member who can pause for the winter has an easier road back in the spring, so an account that’s easy to manage is part of how you keep members.

What about our existing members?

They come with you. We plan the migration around your current processor and records, and members are moved on a schedule without being asked to start over.

Do we need new hardware at the point of service?

It depends on how you recognize members today, and scoping settles it early. Sometimes it’s a camera or a scanner, and often it’s software connected to equipment you already own.

Can memberships run alongside regular sales?

Yes. Memberships sit next to single visits and gift cards, and the system knows who’s a member wherever they show up.

Can we see a membership system working?

Yes. The Sunlane Express Wash concept build runs an unlimited club, with one plate recognized at every gate and the overnight billing run shown step by step.
